STATEMENT In the nineties, video penetrated into the world of defined compositional forms and the extremely creative use of effects and editing. Today, video has passed the phase of statics with the introduction of dynamics, rhythm, movement and melody. Most of my projects are based on the movement of computer-generated - or physically created objects, and primarily on the movement of people, i. e. dance. Through editing I am establishing dialogue between neighbouring scenes. Words lose their literary meaning and become elements, which in harmony with other elements build the structure of the whole. Born on 6 May 1965 in Valjevo. He took studies at the Faculty of Electrotechnics in Ljubljana and at the Academy of Film and Television in Belgrade. Between 1990 and 1992 he worked as a cameraman at TV Slovenia. Member of the BRIS group (1989-97) and of the Human Creative Net (since 1997). In 1992 he was the organiser of the Slovene Video Festival in Idrija. He has been a cameraman, editor and director of videos and television programmes. |

RAZSTAVA
PROSTORA IN RAZMIŠLJANJA O NJEM / EXIBITION OF SPACE AND REFLECTIONS ON
IT Architecture tells its own story without words.
PASSER BY A multitude of moving images presenting everyday life from various viewing angles. Images of life vibrate in the rhythm of music by Sergej Kurjohin. Although dance is in the forefront of this video, this is not a video spot.
POSITIVE
CONNECTION II A fleeting glance and noise bring us into a space of consciousness where the real and the abstract unite on the border of perception.
DUGTREN The graphic signs appearing at the beginning are immediately transformed into real images of elements: shaping of clay, a fountain, a toilet bowl and the flushing of water accompanied by the sound of a train. Images follow the rhythm of the music which links them.
DO YOU HEAR
THE SOUND OF SILENCE A black and white video which builds on the details of the body under the shower. The images are not disturbed either by sounds or music because - as the title says - only the silence can be heard. That the eye of the video camera is always voyeuristic is best illustrated by the detail of the bath drain, a fetishistic and 'psychotic' object of the greatest voyeur among film directors - Hitchcock.
BACK TO THE
BIBLE The author collects inserts from various sources: Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin, Lang's Metropolis, Reggio's Koyanisquatsi, archive shots, etc. Editing by the repetition of images erases their source, and the 'editing of associations' builds a link between the spectator's view and the title: the creation of images as a ritual and the return to primeval man.
ANTI NAZI
A collage of documentary shots of totalitarian regimes of various periods and places.
OUT OF MEMORY Precise editing and sharp cuts stress the sense of hopelessness and isolation of the world. The main hero moves through urban areas, but finally finds himself in the midst of the 'endlessness' of nature, none the less strange and unpredictable. Dreams of a different life are complemented by graphics and computer animation, additionally perfecting a visually rich and conceptually 'old-fashioned' video.
PARABOLA The Parabola spot is a short clone of six hours long, live video performance by VJ Simo.
